Trunk-or-Treat on October 25th

Kick off some Halloween fun and join in the Trunk or Treat line-up in the Mt. Carmel High parking lot on Wednesday, October 25th.

Each year Band and Guard parents are invited to decorate their cars with a Halloween theme and give out candy to the students after the Wednesday night rehearsal. This is an optional event, but the more parents participate, the more fun it is for the students.

We meet in the parking lot around 8:00 PM, decorate the cars, and socialize while waiting for the evening rehearsal to end. Once the rehearsal ends, the students bring their own bags or buckets for their candy and then visit each of the participating “trunks” before heading home.

If you are interested in participating, please plan candy for about 120 students. Generally, it is one or two pieces of candy per person.


Tournament Volunteers Needed!

We’re in search of volunteers for the Mt Carmel Tournament of Bands! If you’re interested in contributing but unsure about the available roles, take a look at the list below to see which positions are already filled. At the time of this announcement, these roles still require additional assistance. The percentage indicates how many slots have already been occupied, so if a position is at 35%, we definitely need more volunteers! 🙂

5:00pm Official Warm up time (Front ensemble set up near path)

Sectional Time/Warm up/Tune

5:20pm Winds Warm up/Run Through (Front ensemble and Battery Percussion Ensemble)
5:30pm FULL Ensemble Run Through (Band will join Percussion)
5:50pm Walk to staging
6:00pm Staging
6:15pm Performance
7:15pm Awards/EAT

4:45pm Sound check and Rehearsal
Musicians make sure you have all your music and instrumental needs
5:15pm Tune and set stage for first group (BMMS)
5:45pm Open doors (students off the stage, chairs and stands set up for BMMS AND MC)
6:00pm BMMS plays their set
6:15pm Combined Orchestras: Ghost Carnival
6:20pm 15 min intermission to set up stage
6:35pm MCHS plays their set
7:00pm Post-Concert Clean Up
(Return their instruments and equipment to the designated storage areas)

Please note that Brett Alan Photography will be filming and photographing the concert.


Color Guard 8th Grade Night

8th GRADE NIGHT SCHEDULE for the COLOR GUARD

Please note that this post is Color Guard specific. One for the Marching Band will be posted soon. While call time is exact, the rest of the schedule is subjective to the pacing of the football game

5:30 pm: Call Time (hair is done, makeup is done except lip stain, black sweats, black shoes, red warm-up shirt, etc.); MEETING OUTSIDE THE PAC WITH EQUIPMENT
5:45 pm Start warm-up
7:15 pm End warm-up + touch up/apply lip stain + change into costume
7:40 pm Lined up and ready to go
~ 8:00 pm Field
~ 8:15 pm Perform!
~ 8:30 pm Head back to band room
ONCE EVERYTHING IS PUT AWAY, YOU HAVE CLEANED UP AND CHANGED OUT, AND YOU HAVE CHECKED IN WITH EITHER KIRSTEN (CAROLINE’S MOM) OR JACKIE, YOU ARE DISMISSED AND CAN EITHER GO HOME OR GO BACK INSIDE THE STADIUM WITH A PARENT.
