Please join us for a VERY IMPORTANT PARENT INFORMATIONAL MEETING on Wednesday, September 28th at 6 pm. We have several things we need to go over with our parents and are looking forward to the opportunity to see everyone.
Not only will we be going over a lot of program information but we have a fantastic opportunity to raise easy funds by simply having you all attend our brief meeting. One of our sponsors has graciously offered to donate $5/parent that attends our meeting. This is an easy way to have a mini fundraiser that helps our kids just for showing up. (100 parents = $500 to our program)

45th Annual Mt. Carmel Tournament of Bands Parent Kickoff Meeting
You are invited to attend a brief and informative kick-off meeting for the Mt. Carmel-hosted 45th Annual Tournament of Bands on Wednesday, September 14th at 7:00 pm in the Band Room. Come learn about the behind-the-scenes process that makes our tournament one of the best and most respected in the SCSBOA tournament circuit.
This year we are fortunate to have nearly all our committee chair positions filled by experienced, returning parent volunteers! We are looking for a few co-chairs and people interested in shadowing in these key areas: facilities, field show, parking, and concessions. However, there are many other opportunities to participate – something for everyone and every schedule.
The tournament is one of our most successful fundraisers and benefits all aspects of the music program band, color guard, and orchestra!
Poway Days Parade is Saturday, September 10th! Call time 8:00 AM at Poway Road & Pomerado Road in the Smart & Final Parking Lot.
Attire: Summer Uniform for this event: Red Polo, Black shorts with a pocket to hold a water bottle or fanny pack (hydration pack is also acceptable), White Crew Socks (no logos), and White Tennis Shoes. No hats, headscarves, or jewelry are allowed, but sunglasses are acceptable. Leave your instrument case in your parent’s car. Only bring what you need to play your instrument to the parking lot.
Parents: Drop off your student at the “Smart & Final” parking lot. Corner of Poway Road and Pomerado Road. Then drive over to Community Road and Poway Road (take Twin Peaks road to Community to avoid Poway Road shut down) and park in the Aldi/Harbor Freight lot to pick up your student after the Parade. Families are encouraged to watch the parade and cheer on the band. The best viewing spots are near the announcer’s booth. The Parade starts at 9:00 AM and finishes by approximately 11:00-11:30 AM
This year our tentative position in the parade is 43!
