Out of respect for Rosh Hashanah, the September 15th mandatory parent meeting is postponed. The new meeting date is Wednesday, September 29th at 6:15 PM.
Poway Days Parade is Saturday, September 11th! Call time 7:45 AM at Poway Road & Pomerado Road in the Smart & Final Parking Lot.
Attire: Summer Uniform for this event: Red Polo, Black shorts with a pocket to hold a water bottle or fanny pack (hydration pack is also acceptable), White Crew Socks (no logos), and White Tennis Shoes. No hats, headscarves, or jewelry are allowed, but sunglasses are acceptable. Leave your instrument case in your parent’s car. Only bring what you need to play your instrument to the parking lot.
Parents: Drop off your student at the “Smart & Final” parking lot. Corner of Poway Road and Pomerado Road. Then drive over to Community Road and Poway Road (take Twin Peaks road to Community to avoid Poway Road shut down) and park in the Aldi/Harbor Freight lot to pick up your student after the Parade. Families are encouraged to watch the parade and cheer on the band. The best viewing spots are near the announcer’s booth. The Parade starts at 9:00 AM and finishes by approximately 11:00-11:30 AM
The SAT Proctor Program Information Meeting will be held on Wednesday, Aug 25th at 6:15 pm in the Band Room. Come find out about the SAT program – how you can help and earn funds to support all components of the music programs at Mt. Carmel, including band, color guard, and orchestra.
Friday, August 13th, marks the end of the Band and Guard Camp Week. It is our tradition to celebrate this milestone with a Family Potluck and Concert
Please join us for a family potluck before our band camp concert. The potluck will be held at the football stadium behind the scoreboard and runs from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Bring your own chairs and drinks. Each student is to bring one dish to the potluck as follows:
Woodwind Players: Entree
Brass Players: Salads (or additional sides)
Guard/ Percussion: Dessert
The Band Camp Concert takes place in the stadium from 7:15 pm – 8:00 pm. Please come to listen and enjoy all the hard work our students have been doing all week.
