Important 2018 Dates:

Sat, Aug 11 Music Camp Orientation – NEW Students plus Guard and Percussion, 8:00am – 5:00pm
In-Person Registration – ALL FAMILIES/GRADES, 7am – 11am
Mon, Aug 13 First day of Music Camp – ALL Students, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Fri, Aug 17 Last day of Music Camp, 8:00am – 4:00pm.
Family Music Camp Picnic. 5 pm
Concert in MCHS Stadium, 6:30 pm
Wed, Aug 22 School Starts
First Wednesday Night Rehearsal (every week during Marching Season), 6-9:15 pm, Stadium
Mon, Aug 27 First Music Foundation (Booster) mtg, 7:30 pm, Band Room

Week of November 13th


This is finals week so please budget your study time so you have plenty of time to prepare for your finals and still be prepared for our final week of competition.

Friday-period 5 field show rehearsal

Parade Band rehearsal 1:15-2:15 plan to eat a lunch after school. Please plan ahead.

Load semi

Saturday-Championship Day! (Below schedule may change so please check back)

Bring warm clothes, a sack lunch, snacks, plenty of water and some money for dinner…we will be gone until midnight!

It will be cold for the evening so consider buying thermal undergarments to wear under your uniform if you get cold easily.

Call time for everyone 7:30 AM

load buses…No blankets are allowed on the bus this year!

Arrive at Santa Anita Racetrack 10:00 AM

Mt. Carmel Parade Band on the competition line 12:16 PM

After the parade, change into street clothes and have a snack. We will be going to dinner at 3:30 PM at the Santa Anita Mall.

Parade Awards begin at 1:30 at Arcadia High School Stadium.

After awards, load bus and travel to Santa Anita Westfield Mall 400 South Baldwin Ave. Arcadia (next to the racetrack) at 3:15 PM

Senior line at 3:30 PM

You may eat at the food court or other restaurants at the mall. Do not leave the mall!

Back on the buses at 5:30 PM to go to Citrus College Stadium for field Championships!

8:33 PM Mt. Carmel Performs!

Awards at 9:45 PM

After awards, load buses and head back to San Diego

Parents, please be on time to pick up your student so our chaperones can go home on time too.

Week of November 6th

Parents: Our Music Foundation donations drive is in need of your support! If you haven’t yet contributed your donation or have only contributed a portion, please consider supporting our very special program. Remember, your donation is tax deductible for this tax year, so it’s a great time to donate. It takes at least $600.00 per student to fully fund instruction, field show costs, uniform and transportation for the year. Please donate whatever you can and our foundation can take monthly installments too. Checks can be made to “MCMF” and dropped off in the MCMF mailbox in the Band Room hallway, or click the Donate Now button.

Wednesday-rehearsal 6:00 PM-9:15

Friday-Veterans Day Rehearsal

8:00AM-9:30 AM-Parade Band and Guard rehearsal on street

10:00 AM-2:00 PM Field show rehearsal bring a lunch, snacks, water and sunscreen etc.

*After rehearsal: Load parade drums, Guard banner and parade Sousaphones on Box Truck.

Saturday-AM Parade-PM Field Show (we will take buses and leave from Mt. Carmel)

Parade Band and Guard call 7:15 AM at Mt. Carmel. Students will change into Red Trousers at the band room, grab their garment bags with jackets, shakos and instruments. Bring your street clothes to change into after the parade. Board buses and leave for Liberty Station.

Also, bring money for lunch or your own sack lunch for after the parade. After Awards, load buses and return to MC.

Competition Line at 11:12 AM

Awards at 12:45 PM…After awards, load buses and depart for MC.

Return time 2:00 PM. Uniforms need to load on semi for field show.

Percussion and Sousaphones will need to load semi after arriving back from parade. Time TBA

Field Show call: 5:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Band Room. Load Buses and depart for San Ysidro High School.
