Week of 10-29

A BiG THANK YOU! to all who helped with our Tournament on Saturday! The tournament was a huge success and nothing but compliments from the visiting band directors.

In addition, great performances by our students after they worked so hard during the day.

We are now down to the final three weeks of Marching Season!

This is the final week for students to earn a “C” on any remaining pass offs!

Monday-Percussion and guard rehearsal 6:00 PM

Tuesday-parade and field split rehearsal period 5.

Wednesday-Halloween Evening  rehearsal! 6:00 to 9:15 PM Parade  Band call 6:00, everyone else 6:30 PM. Students may wear costumes as long as their vision and movement is not obstructed. Every few years our rehearsal falls on Halloween night, Trunk or Treat follows the rehearsal in the parking lot! We will have a lot of fun! This is a very important rehearsal and everyone needs to attend! Halloween is  NOT a Holiday…sorry, there will be no excused absences! Missing this rehearsal means you cannot perform at Mira Mesa!

Thursday-parade rehearsal.

Friday-Load equipment/take home your instrument!

Saturday-Mira Mesa Tournament of Bands!

Parade Band Call Time: 12:45 (those students who are taking the SAT test need to have their parents ready to pick them up as soon as they finish the test and drop off at Mira Mesa High School ASAP. Have your instrument ready to go and wear your uniform undergarments and hair up, so you can quickly change when you arrive). Most SAT takers should be able to arrive by 1:15-1:30 on average.

Remember, Mira Mesa Blvd will be closed for the PARADE!…so approach Mira Mesa High School from the South. Take Miramar Road and go north on Camino Ruiz toward Mira Mesa Blvd. Drop your student off at Mira Mesa High School from this route to avoid road closures.

There is no parking on the Mira Mesa Campus. If you’re staying to watch, you will need to find parking in the neighborhood around the school.

On Parade Competition Line at 2:18 PM

You may stay for awards and buy a ticket to the afternoon show to watch some bands or you may go home and return later for the evening show. If you stay, bring money for tickets, food and bring sun screen and a hat.

Field Band Call Time 7:30 PM

Perform at 9:00 PM after the performance, change and return for awards!

Awards at 9:45 PM Parents, meet your student by 10:15 PM.
